Climate and weather in Corfu

Corfu has a Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and dry, while winters are cold and rainy. The island’s rich greenery is directly linked to the winter rainfall. Humidity is relatively high throughout the year. During the summer period, which begins in May and ends in September, rain is rare, and temperatures range between 23°C and 36°C. The highest temperature ever recorded is 42.8°C on 24 July 2007, while the lowest is −6.0°C on 17 January 2012. The winds are rarely strong, especially on the eastern side of the island. Also, due to the short distance from the mainland, travel to and from the island is rarely affected.
